Why are we different?

We have been specializing in acupuncture treatment of pain and muscular-skeletal disorders since 1993. Our groundbreaking research in electro-acupuncture for post-surgical pain management, along with multiple patents for innovative acupuncture methods and devices have made us a recognized leader in the field. We have been invited as experts in acupuncture and pain management by national TV channels and have been interviewed by other news media. We also have a number of publications on the subject and have conducted training seminars for other practitioners. But, most of all, it is our integrity and dedication to the patients that we bring to the patients’ care that make us special. People from all walks of life find relief from pain and improvement in functioning after being treated in our clinic. Our patient list includes many world-class athletes and olympic champions.
We have elevated traditional acupuncture to a new level by integrating refined diagnostic palpation skills with western muscular and neurological testing. Our approach is rooted in a thorough knowledge and understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
We have a unique expertise in electro-acupuncture and percutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (PENS). These are two related therapeutic modalities, which are used to treat pain, inflammation, and scar tissue. During these procedures an electrical current is delivered via strategically placed acupuncture needles to the affected areas and to deep anatomical structures that are not reachable by other non-invasive treatment methods. Among the ailments that we treat are post-surgical knee and hip pain, scar tissue, frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis), supraspinatus tendinitis, chondromalacia patella, Morton’s neuroma, and many others. Percutaneous electrical nerve stimulation can also be used to manage acute post-surgical pain. Our clinical research on post-operative pain management with acupuncture and PENS was published in the “Pain Management Nursing” Magazine in 2010.
We have perfected and advanced these methods through our refined treatment technique, patented ultra-light electrodes for pain-free treatment delivery, and novel portable electrical nerve stimulation devices.

Acupuncture +plus+ Physical Therapy

We developed a one-of–a-kind program that draws on acupuncture and Physical Therapy fields. Generally speaking, we use acupuncture predominantly during an acute phase that is characterized by pain and inflammation. Physical therapy is incorporated thereafter to strengthen and to condition affected areas.
During the rehabilitation process our patients are gradually transitioned from acupuncture to physical therapy. With this approach we reach three main goals:

1. Safety
2. Speedier recovery
3. Prevention of re-injury

Our personal training program is an integral part of the rehabilitation process. It is conducted by a highly experienced physical therapist who specializes in personal training. The physical therapy expertise assures appropriate level of therapeutic activities that fits each individual patient. Whether you are in the program for general health improvement or for rehabilitation, you can reach your realistic goals without the fear of being injured. You will work hard but will also have fun doing it.

Ultimately, it is the results that matter. We promote and adhere to evidence-based acupuncture and physical therapy practice. We use relevant information from current clinical research and combine it with our extensive clinical experience to deliver the best possible results to our patients.
